Dr. Linda Eckhaus Merkin, a Chiropractor based in N.Y. , was searching for a drug-free solution for her 7-year old son's asthma.  Her research led her to the Buteyko method of Respiratory Reconditioning, a method for asthma and related breathing disorders in broad use in Russia, Australia and the UK.

She took her  son to London to visit  Christopher Drake, a leading proponent of the Buteyko method, and her son sustained immediate and profound improvement. 

With Mr. Christopher Drake, the Respiratory Health Institute was formed to introduce the method to the USA and continue to provide  programs for patients and health professionals around the world.

Christopher Drake is a Senior Buteyko Practitioner and has addressed over ten thousand patients. He has been featured in numerous medical journals, newspapers and television documentaries for his work with asthma.
